Christmas 2019 in Singapore

Planning your year end trip around Asia? Here is one great suggestion for you and your beloved one at Gardens By The Bay, the Singapore most popular year-end event, Christmas Wonderland. Christmas Wonderland is Singapore’s biggest fair organised by Blue Sky Events Pte Ltd, successfully attracting close to 3.8 million visitors since its debut in 2014. It is sixth edition this year, i believe we are looking towards the lights luminarie and experience of “snow”. The entry ticket allow you free access to most of the attraction spots at wonderland, grab your ticket and feel the holidays and shopping season from 29 Nov 2019 to 26 Dec 2019.

Let’s get started. It is advisable to buy ticket online (it’s cheaper, SGD6 vs SGD10 onsite) before 12pm of the day or via Klook, unless you want to queue. From my experience, the queue is moving fast, as there are three counter at the ticketing booth at each entry, i am not sure about Gate 5, but if you are coming from Bayfront MRT station, you should be heading to Gate 1 or 2.

What you must not miss No.1: Luminarie Light Sculptures

A stunning 21-metre tall Spalliera as the main feature. Inspired by the iconic towers of the San Gimignano hill town in Tuscany, Italy, the Spalliera’s three towers and connecting roof will dazzle you with the splendour of the luminarie light display from a three-dimensional perspective. You can enjoy special light and music at Supertree Grove, while waiting for the “snowing”.

What you must not miss No.2: Blizzard Time

This is the perfect spot for your instagram feed or instagram story, hashtag #christmaswonderlandsg. The “snow fall” schedule is subjected to weather condition. It was raining before, luckily the rain did stop at around 7.30pm.. Even today is the first day of the event, many people are here to celebrate this festive season.

What you must not miss No.3: Walk of Peace

A 50-metre tunnel-like walkway, if you take the right angle for photo, it would be very nice.

What else you can do

Have a look at Santa’s Workshop, it is free access with your entry ticket. If you are looking for food and souvenir, go for Festive Market and Christmas Tree Cafe, you can check the list of vendors at Site Map of Official Website. Carnival Games & Rides throughout the fairground including the Mini Viking, Bumper Cars, Christmas Train and Swing Chair Carousel.

There are different performances at Meadow Theatre. The ticket can be bought online or onsite, but buy online is always cheaper and if you are in a group of four, then each of you can save up to SGD2.

Few luminaries are actually located outside, meaning you can enjoy the light sculptures too without ticket, but the main features are inside wonderland.
